George P. Elliott House #2
George P. Elliott House #2
George P. Elliot acquired these lots in 1839 and 1844, but lived in Lowell and North Billerica. It's possible he had this house built in anticipation of a second marriage, but more likely on spec. By 1853, the lot with buildings was owned by W. G. Alley, another wealthy speculator.
In 1999, the town had tried to find a buyer to relocate and restore the house, but was unsuccessful. The building was torn down and replaced with a purely commercial facility.
