Henry Bowers sold this lot with buildings to George P. Elliott in 1839. Since Bowers was not married until 1841 and the style of the house is more indicative 1840s to 1850s, it's much more likely that Elliott built this house, possibly on an older foundation.
This house still stands, though its use has changed to commercial interests.
