Abraham Jaquith House
Abraham Jaquith House

Also Known As | George Farley Garrison |
Address | 161 Concord Rd |
MACRIS ID | BIL.169 |
Built | 1653 |
Demolished | 2000 |
Prior to its 2000 dismantling and rebuilding in Gilmanton, NH, this was the most likely candidate for the oldest house in Billerica. Samuel Farley, son of George, is the first birth recorded in Billerica in March 1654. The home that George established in 1653 may be included in the present structure. At the very least, this house was authorized as a garrison in 1675 and the interior was well-preserved from those dates.
George Farley remained in Billerica, but most of his descendants moved on to Roxbury, likely due to their Anabaptist faith. However, his granddaughter Hannah married Abraham Jaquith in 1726 and maintained the homestead. It has remained in the family ever since.
In 2000, Peter Jaquith Casey had the building moved to Gilmanton, NH to preserve it.
