Anthony Alvino

Anthony Alvino

Anthony "Tony" Alvino was a music teacher in the Billerica public schools for 35 years, until his retirement in 2006. He is listed on the Howe faculty in the 1972 Warrior yearbook, and afterward at Billerica Memorial High School, where for more than thirty years the yearbooks list "Mr. A. Alvino, Music" alongside the band director George Lemieux and Dr. Paul Cox. He worked with the band, the jazz musicians and the school musicals (seniors of 1982 remembered being "back stage w/ Mr. Alvino in Oklahoma"), taught piano classes, and was known to generations of students for his jokes. The School Committee listed him among the teachers who retired in 2006 with 35 years of service, and the 2006 yearbook named him first among the ten high school faculty members who retired that year.
