On September 26, 1955, Billerica Memorial High School opened its doors to 700 students. By 1973, there was need for a substantial addition, and a special meeting on January 16, 1973 voted to spend $10.3M on it. The addition opened to students in September 1975.
In the 2010s, the aging school was in need of replacement. Construction began on a new school, while leaving the old intact until its completion. This new building opened in September 2019.
