Bates Pond

Bates Pond

Bates Pond is a small pond in Carlisle, a little over half a mile east of Carlisle center, in the part of old Billerica west of the Concord River that became part of Carlisle in 1780. No Billerica record of it has been found. The name probably comes from a Bates family farm; the Carlisle Conservation Foundation owns a six-acre Bates Farm Lot on Bedford Road, acquired in 1982.
