Benjamin K. Heald of Carlisle married Frances Ann Bowers of Billerica in 1842. The lot on which the house sets is part of a larger tract of land that belonged to the Bowers family. It first sold to Frances's aunt Hannah and her husband Reverend Jacob Norton of Weymouth. The Nortons transferred this lot to Heald in 1851, but they likely had the house built prior to their ownership, using the same plan as the Gorham house next door.
The house is still standing along with its outbuildings, all being used as businesses.
