Bernard Street is a very short street, about 200 feet long, that runs east from Bridle Road at the end of Parkway Avenue toward the Concord River, in the River Pines section north of the Centre.

It lies within the subdivision called Rivermere on the Concord, "belonging to Charles Bruce, 1911," drawn by O. M. Snell of Lowell and recorded on December 5, 1913 (Plan Book 31, Plan 16). East of Bridle Road that plan lays out Hillside Avenue, Hancock Street, Central Avenue, a fourth street and Atherton Avenue running down toward Water Street on the river, and the fourth street lies where Bernard Street is now, carrying on the line of the plan's Park Avenue across Bridle Road. The first part of its name is lost in a fold of the recorded copy, so it cannot be said whether it was called Bernard in 1911. The name Bernard Street has not been found in the town records before 2013, and nothing found explains it.

No vote accepting Bernard Street as a public way has been found, and it is not in the town's list of accepted streets printed in 1955. In 2013 the public works department crack sealed it and made drainage improvements along Atherton Avenue, Bernard Street, Kameha Drive and Freedom Way under its Roadway Management Program, and in 2014 a water main on Bridle Road was extended from a point "just past Bernard St."
