Billerica Moose Lodge No. 2648


Billerica Lodge No. 2648, the Billerica Moose Lodge, is the Billerica lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose, the fraternal and service organization founded in 1888, whose headquarters are at Mooseheart, Illinois. The lodge's home is at 104 Boston Road in North Billerica, the address given for it by Moose International, and the Moose Lodge is listed at that address in the town's personal property tax books from 2012 through 2024.

The lodge is a comparatively recent one in town. It does not appear in the list of benevolent and fraternal organizations in the Polk directory of 1985, which includes the Billerica Elks, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Order of the Rainbow, the Order of DeMolay, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus, and the town reports first mention it in 2010. The date it was instituted has not been found.

In 2010 the Billerica Moose Lodge held a dance to raise money for Project BEAM, the school department's state certified early intervention program for children from birth to age three, to be used for the children, and in 2011 it gave the program a donation. The lodge is registered with the Internal Revenue Service in North Billerica as Billerica Lodge No 2648 Loyal Order of Moose, a fraternal beneficiary society under section 501(c)(8), and it is listed as an active lodge by Moose International in 2026.
