Address 10 Andover Rd

Built 1750

The Blodgett Homestead was one of the three oldest houses along the north side of Andover Road. Although it was never listed in the Town Records of historic sites, it appears to have been built in the 18th century. O.M. Blodgett owned the family plot in 1840 and sold it in two parcels, this Homestead being on the lot 200 feet from the corner of Boston Road. The second house must have been built between 1889 and 1898. In 1915, the property passed to Miss Jennie Blodgett. She lived in the newer house and divided the older into two apartments. Eventually, the house sold to Gustave Champagne who turned the west side of the house into a barbershop.
