The Boynton Subdivision is a small group of house lots north of Billerica Centre along Boynton Avenue, a dead-end street off Andover Road. The "Plan of Land in Billerica, Mass., belonging to Josephine L. Boynton," based on a survey by J. T. Brown in 1947 and a subdivision by E. P. Simpson in 1949, records approval of the layout by the Board of Survey on April 3, 1950 and additional detail by Simpson in July 1952, and was recorded on September 11, 1952 (Plan Book 82, Plan 48B). It shows Boynton Avenue running in from Andover Road between nine lots, A to E on one side and 1 to 4 on the other. Josephine L. Boynton was the wife of Dr. George H. Boynton, a physician of Cummings Street. A water main was laid in the street in 1952, and the oldest houses date from about 1954.
