Cady Street runs north from the end of Mulcahy Lane across Friendship Street in the Nuttings Lake section, a short way west of the lake.

It was laid out in April 1910 on two of C. A. Thayer's plans of Nuttings Lake Park for the Billerica Land Company: Plan B (Plan Book 27, Plan 34), where Cady Street crosses from Lake Street through South and Central Streets, and Plan C, "Nuttings Lake Park Annex" (Plan Book 27, Plan 35, recorded May 6, 1910), where it continues west across Stewart and Friendship Streets toward the Middlesex Turnpike. No record explains the name; it was chosen with Rhodes, Peace, Plenty, Friendship and Everett Streets on the same plans. Cady is one of the few Nuttings Lake streets in the directory of 1919, "Cady crossing Friendship n Old Middlesex turnpike," and the guide of 1930 to 1931 gives "Cady (north side Nuttings lake) from South northerly byd Friendship."

The annual meeting of February 9, 1946 voted to accept "Cady Street from Friendship Street 650 feet"; the selectmen laid it out on August 26, 1946, and the special town meeting of October 28, 1946 accepted the laying out for water mains. The town's index of accepted streets gives "Cady Street--From Friendship St. 2-9-46--10-28-46." In 1947 the Water Department laid 743 feet of main in it. The fall town meeting of October 1988 discontinued "the portion of Cady Street between South Street and Central Street," 215 feet, keeping it as a drain and utility easement, so the street no longer reaches the lake. Cady Street is not among the roads of the 1831 map accepted in 2016.
