Cavan Road is a short unaccepted way running east from Billerica Avenue in North Billerica, near the Lowell line. It is one of the least documented streets in town. It does not appear on the town maps of 1831, 1853 or 1875, in the street lists of 1896 and 1899, or in the street lists of the directories of 1901 to 1931, and no plan or town meeting vote laying it out has been found.

The earliest mention found in the town reports is in 1970, when the town engineer listed a drainage project on "Billerica Avenue at Cavan Road." It was on the list of streets graded in 1979, where it is spelled "Caven Road," and was graded again in 1981 along with other gravel streets. It has never been accepted as a public way.

The source of the name is not recorded. Cavan is the name of a county and town in Ireland, and Billerica's other short ways off Billerica Avenue were named by developers in the twentieth century, but no record connects this street to a particular person, family or plan.
