The Charles E. Morris House was likely constructed about 1890 for Charles Everett Morris (1848–1910) and his wife, Selina M. Glover (1864–1921), on a parcel of land acquired from Albert Stearns in 1888. Born in 1864 on Prince Edward Island, Canada, Selina immigrated to the United States in 1886 and married Charles in 1889. The couple had at least four children: Delana (b. 1890), Sylvia (1893–1994), Melvin (b.1901), and Charles (1902–1904). Charles worked variously as a painter and a teamster and occupied the dwelling with his family, which included a daughter from Selina’s first marriage, Florence Young (b. 1883), and Charles' sister, Alice Morris (b. 1854). Following Charles’s death in 1910, Selina inherited the property and presumably continued to occupy the dwelling with her children. Selina retained ownership until 1920, when she sold the property to Frank C. and Hattie M. Harper.
