Daniel Hartford House
Daniel Hartford was from Dover, NH and married Harriet Brown in 1837. She was the daughter of Jonas and Lydia (Spaulding) Brown. Her grandfather, Benoni Spaulding died in 1840 and his farm was divided up among his heirs. Daniel bought this property from his mother-in-law in 1855.
There is some confusion about the exact date this house was built. It appears on H.F Walling's 1853 map, but the 1855 deed describes the plot of land as "woodland" and no buildings are mentioned.
