Day Street is a short street in the Nutting Lake section running east from Mallard Street to Beech Street, between Gage Street and Bolton Road. It first appears on "Nuttings Lake Park Extension, Plan E," drawn in May 1915 by C. A. Thayer, engineer, of Providence, Rhode Island, and recorded April 14, 1916 (Plan Book 33, Plan 46), where Day Street runs west from Beach Street, and Plan G of December 1916 (Plan Book 35, Plan 76) shows "Day St." between Main Street (now Mallard Street) and Beach Street. No record explains the name.

Day Street stayed a gravel lane for half a century. The Department of Public Works graveled and graded it in 1969 and graded it again in 1973, and the annual town meeting of 1973 accepted it as a public way under Article 20; the department's report describes it as "Accepted 4/12/73 (N.L.) 200' x 30', from Main Street easterly to dead end, gravel way 10' wide."

It was repaved in fiscal 2003. Day Street is not one of the roads of the 1831 map accepted in 2016.
