Ebenezer Pemberton

Ebenezer Pemberton, LL.D., schoolmaster, nephew of Rev. Ebenezer Pemberton, D.D., of Boston. He graduated Harvard College 1765 and was a tutor at Princeton; Aaron Burr was among his pupils. After eight years as principal of Phillips Academy, Andover, from 1786, he came to Billerica and conducted a private academy there for many years. Farmer lists him among the deacons of the Billerica church, noting that he resigned. His last years were spent in Boston, where he died June 25, 1835, aged 89.
