Also Known As Arthur E. Allen House
Address 345 Boston Rd

Built 1886

This lot was part of the Hubbard/Manning homestead, and was divided by Charles B. Wood in 1886. Arthur Allen acquired the land and built the house. In 1889, Allen and Rosina Howe exchanged houses. In 1895, there was a quick series of transfers, and the house was bought by Elmer Ellsworth Cole. Not long after 1900, he remodelled extensively, adding the round bay on the north and the elaborate porch. Elmer Cole was a grain dealer, and owned the grain and coal storage facility on Boston Road across from Bennett Hall Depot.
