In 1872, Isaac Stackpole acquired this land in a couple purchases. He built a house and outbuildings. In 1910, James P. Robinson bought the property and abandoned Stackpole's house in favor of building his own.

The Robinson Estate only stayed in the family until 1920. It passed through several owners until being acquired in 1946 by Bertha Simmons. She and her sister, Mildred Harrison, founded the Simmons Nursing Home, which lasted for over 50 years. Today, it's a sober living facility.
