Address 398 Boston Rd
MACRIS ID BIL.43
Built 1885

One of a pair of houses built by John O. Richardson, his son John A. Richardson occupied the house until his death in 1928.

Long associated with the lumber yard at Bennet Hall Station, which he opened in 1912, John A. was a widely respected citizen and "pillar of the community". Public servant and trustee of many private finds, including the Howe School funds, his eventual death by suicide was an unexpected shock.

A later occupant of the house was Marion D. Gould, successful attorney and Town Moderator throughout the 1960s, when ill health forced her to seek retirement in Ipswich.
