One of ten single-room district schoolhouses in Billerica during the 19th century. The first definitive record is in Hales' 1831 town map and the last known record is the 1866 Town Annual Report. By 1875, it was removed from town maps. In 1912, Article 15 of the Town Warrant was a motion to "seize by right of eminent domain the Jones schoolhouse lot at Jones Corner as a site for a fire hose house".
