Little Red Schoolhouse

One of ten single-room district schoolhouses in Billerica during the 19th century, this schoolhouse was built on Wyman Road, a bit south of Schoolhouse Lane. The building ceased to be used as a school in 1869 but it stood for at least 100 more years, finally falling apart in the early 1970s. As recently as the 1988 deed (4766/12), the lot was described as "with the Old School House thereon".
