Lund Building

Lund Building
Address 441 Boston Rd
Built 1891
Demolished 1970

The Gragg family had a tiny lot on Charnstaffe Lane with just enough room for a house. They also owned this empty field across the street from their house. In 1884, Gragg died and his widow sold both lots to Charles W. Lund, the blacksmith who had built the Charles Lund House a few lots to the north. The lot remained empty on the 1889 map, but Lund sold to George P. Greenwood in 1892 with buildings. Greenwood was a farmer who lived on Dudley Road, and this building's outline looks very similar to the Greenwood Building, which would suggest it was a similar storefront.

In 1971, a gas station and convenience store replaced this building.
