Mary Jane Wallwork was born in England on November 15, 1843, a daughter of Jonathan and Jane (Jones) Wallwork, and was christened at Eccles that December. She married James Barrington and came with him to North Billerica in the 1880s. After his death in 1904 she sold most of their Billerica Avenue lot to Mary Casey and kept its northern third. She died in Nashua, New Hampshire, on July 4, 1920, and was buried with her husband and children in the North Cemetery in Billerica.
