Address River Street
Built 1737

Middle Bridge, aka Centre Bridge, was named because it was between the Great Bridge (Bridge Street crossing) and Hill's Bridge (Route 4). At the time, there was no Fordway Bridge. It was first built in 1737, "against the bridle way, betwixt Mr. Enoch Kidder and Oliver Whiting Jr's lots." Many property deeds on River Street refer to the road as "the Road to Middle Bridge".
