Oakvale & O'Mahony Park is a neighborhood in North Billerica off Sheldon Street, on Michael Road, Theresa Avenue, Crooked Spring Road and Mary Road. Oakvale was laid out for Quality Homes, Inc. of Tewksbury in 1964 and 1965, and O'Mahony Park beside it, on Mary Road, for Edward V. Mahony in 1967, on land abutting Quality Homes'. The houses of both went up between 1965 and about 1970. Their histories follow.
Oakvale is a small neighborhood in North Billerica off Sheldon Street. The "'Oakvale' Subdivision Plan of Land in Billerica, Mass.," owned by Quality Homes, Inc. of Main Street, Tewksbury, and drawn by Dana F. Perkins & Sons, Inc., civil engineers and surveyors, of 43 Lakeview Avenue, Lowell, is dated December 30, 1964 and was recorded on September 7, 1965 (Plan Book 102, Plan 95). It laid out thirty-six lots of about 30,000 square feet on Michael Road and Theresa Avenue, both running east from Sheldon Street, joined by Karen Street, now Crooked Spring Road, on land bounded by Albert J. and Rose Loranger, Marion E. Finnegan and Sylvester J. and Francis Z. O'Toole. The houses date from 1965 to about 1970.
O'Mahony Park is a small late-1960s neighborhood in North Billerica on Mary Road, a short dead-end street off Sheldon Street. The K. J. Miller Company drew the "Definitive Subdivision Plan of O'Mahony Park" for its owner, Edward V. Mahony, on November 3, 1967, and it was recorded on May 29, 1968 (Plan Book 107, Plan 9). It sits beside Oakvale, whose developer, Quality Homes, Inc., owned the abutting land. The houses were built in 1968 and 1969.
