Orchard Manor

Orchard Manor is a neighborhood of house lots on the north side of Wyman Road, laid out by Billerica Homes, Inc., in the early 1950s. The "Orchard Manor, Plan of Land in Billerica, Mass.," dated June 16, 1953, was drawn by Dana F. Perkins and Sons, Inc., civil engineers and surveyors, of Reading, approved by the Planning Board on August 10, 1953 subject to a statement of conditions, and recorded on August 14, 1953 (Plan Book 83, Plan 49). Billerica Homes, Inc., in care of Dreyfus Properties of 50 Federal Street, Boston, was owner and developer.

The plan laid out about 150 house lots, most of 10,000 square feet, on Elizabeth Road, Jeffrey Road, Matthew Road and Susan Drive, with an extension of Lindsay Road, and dedicated a lot of about 2.8 acres to the town. The land of Joseph and Annie Martin bounded it on the north and west. Most of the houses were built in the early 1950s.
