Pinehurst Miniature Golf Course

Miniature golf course on Boston Road at the corner of Shawsheen Road (now 729 Boston Road), on the lot of the former Olga L. Greenwood House. Pinehurst Miniature Golf Course, Inc. bought the land in May 1957, and the 1957 Lowell suburban directory lists the course under amusements, run by Warren P. Snyder and Carlton R. Traywick. The company sold the land in 1963; from 1964 it belonged to the Pinehurst Recreation Corp., and in the 1960s the course was Marvel Soft Ice-Cream and Miniature Golf, as residents remember. Residents remember a Richardson Root Beer stand, moved there from Burlington about 1956, that was later moved to 176 Boston Road in North Billerica. The land went to an oil company in 1970.
