Riverhurst Boathouse
Riverhurst was created around 1900 by Roland Hobbs and Fred Bartlett as a scenic summer retreat for those living in the city. The Boathouse rented canoes where people could row out to nearby Jug Island. In later years, the Boathouse expanded to be a dance hall too. The Hurricane of 1938 very likely damaged the building beyond repair. Eventually, the town bought the land and created Bartlett's Landing. The Boathouse's wooden flagpole remained standing until October 2021.
