South Billerica Postmaster
Postmaster of the South Billerica post office, serving the southern part of the town near the South Billerica railroad depot. The first postmaster, George W. Hill, was appointed on March 4, 1878, followed by Mary E. A. Libby on December 13, 1878 (Hazen's History of Billerica). Mrs. M. E. A. Libbey is still listed in the Official Register of 1883 and 1885, and Charles H. Hill in 1889, 1891, 1893, 1901 and 1903.
The office no longer appears in the Official Register of 1905, so it was discontinued between July 1903 and July 1905. It is not in the USPS Postmaster Finder. The Nutting Lake post office was not a continuation of it: that office first appears in 1950, more than 40 years later.
