Taylor Road is a short street running west from Lexington Road, opposite School House Lane, on the east side of Nuttings Lake. Until about 1990 it was Sunset Road.

The road belongs to the "Lakeside section" of cottage lots on the east side of the lake, which was laid out between 1919, when the directory lists no streets there, and 1931, when the street guide gives "Sunset Road (east side Nuttings lake) from Lexington rd to Nuttings lake" and "Hillside Road ... from Meadowbank rd to Sunset rd." The name Sunset suits a road running west toward the lake; the subdivision plan and its developer have not been found.

An article to accept Sunset Road and Hillside Road was lost at the annual meeting of 1950. On March 14, 1953 the town voted to accept "Hillside Road and Sunset Road, Nuttings Lake, westerly from Lexington Road, jointly being about 550 feet," and to spend $700 improving them as town ways; the Water Department laid 575 feet of main in "Hillside and Sunset Roads (Lake)" the same year.

In the renaming of November 1988 Hillside Road became Thorndike Road, described as running "from Sunset Road to Meadowbank Road." Sunset Road itself, a duplicate of Sunset Road in The Pines, was renamed Taylor Road in the program's later rounds of 1989 and 1990, which are not itemized in the annual reports. The identification rests on the 1988 and 1995 descriptions of Thorndike Road and on the present street layout. No reason for the name Taylor is recorded. Taylor Road is not among the roads of the 1831 map accepted in 2016.
