The Fields
The Fields is a small office and industrial park on the east side of Concord Road just north of Route 3 and its interchange, between Concord Road, Stearns Lane and the Middlesex Turnpike. It was laid out on the definitive subdivision plan "The Fields, Billerica, Massachusetts," of seven sheets, signed by the surveyor on March 10, 1983, drawn by Joseph W. Moore Co., civil engineers and land surveyors, of Bedford, with Bruce M. Stamski, P.E., for the subdivider, William J. Callahan of Bedford, and the record owner, GCA Corporation of Bedford. The Planning Board approved it on May 9, 1983, and it was recorded on June 15, 1983 (Plan Book 139, Plan 150). The plan put a few large lots on a dead-end street with buffer strips 100 feet wide along Stearns Lane and Concord Road. The buildings went up in 1984 to 1986, among them one for Davox at 4 Federal Street; PAREXEL later occupied several of them. Its street is Federal Street, accepted in 1988.
