Address 17 Farmers Ln
MACRIS ID BIL.159
Built 1720

Tradition says this was the home of Ebenezer Bridge before the Revolution. He was the Major General court martialled for surrendering Bunker Hill and did not return to Billerica. However, there is no evidence to support this claim.

The house was likely built by Jonathan Ballard around 1722 when he married. In 1726, he sold to his brother-in-law, Thomas Kidder, and from then on, deeds described the place as the "Kidder farm" well into the 1800s.

The house is the only surviving example of a gambrel roof from the period in Billerica.
