Turnpike Spa
The Turnpike Spa was the store of George A. Colbath at Nuttings Lake, in the building on the Middlesex Turnpike at the corner of Lake Street by the shore of Nuttings Lake, which his wife Katherine V. Colbath bought in November 1929. The 1930 town warrant asked for money to drain the turnpike "near Colbath's Store," and the directories list the Turnpike Spa from 1931 to 1951, by 1941 as a variety and liquor store. The Colbaths sold the building to Nuttings Lake Cafe, Inc. in 1953.
