Wallace F. Ritter
Died 1951-01-18 North Korea (prisoner of war)

Wallace F. Ritter (died 1951) was a corporal of the United States Army who died as a prisoner of war in the Korean War. Billerica honors him on its Korean Veterans Memorial in Pollard Park on Andover Road.

He served as a light weapons infantryman in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. In late November 1950, as Chinese armies entered the war and struck the American lines in North Korea, he was captured on November 28. He died in captivity on January 18, 1951. His remains were never recovered, and his name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.

The records found do not show his Billerica home or family; the Korean War memorial and the library's list of the town's memorials name him as one of Billerica's six dead of that war.
