Walter Broucha

Walter Broucha

Walter Broucha is one of the Billerica men who died in the Second World War: his name is among the twenty-nine World War II dead on the World War Memorials on the Town Common, unveiled in its present granite form in 2004 in place of the boulder and plaque of 1948.

No other record of him has been found. His name is not in the Billerica town reports, school records or Lowell suburban directories of the 1930s and 1940s, and no man of that surname appears in the National Archives honor list of Army dead for Middlesex County, so his branch of service, unit, and the date and place of his death are not yet known. The spelling on the memorial may differ from the one in federal records.
