Timber Creek Lane, written Timbercreek Lane in the town records, is the street of the Timber Creek neighborhood in South Billerica. It runs in from Dudley Road near its corner with Nashua Road and curves south through about 2,300 feet of house lots. The land, 31.94 acres between Nashua Road, Dudley Road, land of the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America and land of the "United States of America Fisheries and Wildlife Service," belonged to Timbercreek, Inc. At the third session of the annual spring town meeting, on May 10, 1988, the town voted 133 to 8 under Article 47 to rezone it from a Rural Residential District to a Residential Cluster Overlay District, after a slide presentation of the cluster plan for the "thirty-three acres off Nashua Road near Dudley Road."

The BSC Group-Bedford, Inc. drew the "Subdivision Plan of Land in Billerica" for Timber Creek, Inc. on September 13, 1989, dividing lot 7 of an earlier Land Court plan into lots 8 through 33 along the lane. The Land Court approved it on October 15, 1991, and it was registered on November 16, 1992 as Land Court Plan 4094-G. Before building began, the Billerica Historical Commission, at the request of the Massachusetts Historical Commission, took part in 1991 in "scoping" the cellar holes of "a small 19th century farmstead on Timbercreek Estates (Nashua and Dudley Roads)." The assessors date the houses to 1992 through 1995. The name comes from the developer's company; why it chose the name was not found.

At the fourth session of the annual fall town meeting, on October 19, 1995, the town accepted "Timbercreek Lane for its entire length as a public way," under Article 54, "a way 50 feet wide and 2,289 feet, more or less, long," on a petition of residents; the Planning Board had approved the acceptance, and the vote was unanimous.
