Shore Acres is a neighborhood in the east part of Billerica on the south side of Salem Road, running down to the Shawsheen River at the Wilmington line. The plan, "Shore Acres, Billerica, Mass., E. B. Hamilton, Trustee," was drawn in July 1937 by Ernest W. Branch, civil engineer, of Quincy, approved by the Board of Selectmen, and recorded in two sheets on August 31, 1937 (Plan Book 61, Plan 25). It laid out flower-named streets: Bellflower Road parallel to Salem Road, with Lilac Road, Verbena Road, Primrose Road, Larkspur Road, Springwell Road and Forsythia Road running between them, in lots of about 5,000 to 10,000 square feet, with larger lots along the river; Brown Street ran off Salem Road at the north corner.

The assessors date the oldest houses on Bellflower and Primrose Roads to about 1930, before the plan was recorded, and those on Lilac, Springwell and Larkspur Roads to the later 1930s; Verbena Road filled in after 1948. It also takes in the houses on the south side of Salem Road from Bellflower Road east to the Wilmington line at the river, numbers 309 to 367, and the land between the end of Bellflower Road and the Shawsheen River.
