Administration granted Mar. 27, 1749 to his widow Abigail Hill, who signed with her mark, with Samuel Brown, gentleman, and Francis Crosby, shopjoiner, as sureties (witnesses Andrew Bordman and John Jaquith). The inventory of Feb. 28, 1748/9 by Capt. Benjamin Shed, Capt. Enoch Kidder and William French, in old tenor, lists his clothing, a firelock, pistols and sword, beds, linen, a loom, sixteen bushels of corn, thirteen barrels of cider, a horse, two oxen, five cows and nine sheep (731 pounds 8 shillings), and the real estate: "the House lot one acre & quarter with the Buildings," and lots of twenty, two, five and a quarter, four and a half, one and a half and two of two and a half acres. On Nov. 19, 1751 the widow had her thirds set off: the west end of the house, part of the barn, and about six acres of plowland and pasture on the southerly side of the highway by Deacon Hill and Peter Hill; the division was signed in approval by the widow, her son in law Samuel Kidder and her daughter Abiel (Abihail) Kidder, the heir, and accepted June 22, 1752. The twenty acres south of the road later became the Joseph Jaquith house lot.
