Doherty Woods Estates

Doherty Woods Estates is a late-1990s neighborhood in East Billerica on Margaret Lane and Governor Doherty Road, which run side by side from Baldwin Road, at Ferren Drive and Little John Drive, east to Governor Fuller Road. Robert M. Gill & Associates of Lowell drew the "Doherty Woods Estates" definitive plan for Sandalwood Associates of Tewksbury on July 24, 1995; the planning board approved it in March 1996 and it was recorded on April 30, 1996 (Plan Book 191, Plan 16). Part of the land was registered, so some lots also appear on Land Court Plans 28267-D and 26440-C and carry two kinds of title. The record owner was the Baldwin Road Realty Trust. The lots were 50,000 square feet in the rural residence zone, and Governor Doherty Road took the "Governor" style of the streets in neighboring Governors Park. The houses were built between 1996 and 1998.
