Isaac Stearns was born on December 23, 1661, a son of John Stearns, one of the purchasers of the Dudley Farm and among the first settlers of the town, and his second wife, Mary, who after Johns death in 1669 married William French. He married a wife named Mary, and they raised their family in Billerica.
In the land division of 1708 he drew with the "Pond Squadron," which received the land on Bare Hill and between Nuttings Pond and the Oakes farm, and a deed of 1714 shows him holding land on the west side of the Concord River in the first range of lots. In the seating of the meeting-house of about 1736 "Mr. Isaac Stearns" sat in the fore seat below, among the twenty men given the title of "Mr."
He died in 1739, the same year as his only son. His children were Isaac (1701); Mary (1702/3), who married John Pollard; Sarah (1704), who married Ebenezer Johnson of Woburn in 1725; Miriam (1705), who married the cooper Thomas Patten; and Lydia (1707), who married Samuel Belknap.
