Queensland is a neighborhood on the west bank of the Concord River, on the southwest side of Nashua Road from the Nashua Road bridge northwest toward Treble Cove Road and the Carlisle line. It was developed by the Linn Realty Service, Inc., of 251 Harvard Street, Brookline, on plans by R. F. Smith, surveyor, of Billerica. Plan No. 1 (December 1928, recorded May 3, 1929, Plan Book 53, Plan 73) covered the land between the river and Nashua Road, which the plans call the Chelmsford Road. Plan No. 2 (May 1929, recorded August 19, 1929, Plan Book 54, Plan 1) lay west of the first and reached into Carlisle, and Plan No. 3 (December 1928, recorded August 14, 1929, Plan Book 54, Plan 4) was a long strip of lots on the Chelmsford Road between Gilman Road and Treble Cove Road. Most lots were small, many of 2,500 square feet. Land between the first two plans, marked "Greenough, formerly Linn Realty Service, Inc.," was left out.
Plan No. 1 laid out Riveredge Road along the river, with Pauline, Johns, Breen, Sumner, Judkins, Belva and Maybury Roads running up from it to Outlook Road, and Queensland Road, Woodside Road and James Road beyond. Judkins Road is probably today's Larsen Lane. Plan No. 2 added Gilman Road, Hannon Road, Jennings Road, Estey Road, Turner Road and Moran Road. In 1944 the Concord River Realty Trust of Brookline had Merrill A. Brown of Carlisle redraw part of a fourth plan near Treble Cove Road as larger house lots on Casey, Wright and Jennings Roads, Carlisle Street and Carlisle Place (Plan Book 66, Plan 91, recorded September 27, 1944).
The streets of the first plan, near the river, were built up first, and the 1941 town report named Queensland with Riverhurst and Nuttings Lake among the camping sections of the town. Most of the streets of the second and fourth plans stayed on paper for half a century: Pauline Road, Casey Road, Jennings, Hannon, Moran, Estey and Turner Roads were built with houses between 1985 and 1996.
