Richardson School Teacher
Teacher at the Richardson School, the one-room district schoolhouse in East Billerica (listed as school No. 10 in 1890). It was an ungraded mixed school for the first six grades with a single teacher. Annie J. Page, who taught in Billerica for more than thirty-three years, was its teacher from at least 1890 until her death in 1909, apart from about two years of illness in 1896-1898. The school was closed after June 1916, when only eleven pupils were expected, and the East Billerica children were carried to the Pollard School. The building was lent to East Billerica residents for religious and social use in 1919, and in 1932 town meeting voted to sell it to the East Billerica Community Center.
