Sarah Blanchard House

Sarah Blanchard House
Address 421 Boston Rd
Built 1837
Demolished 1965
Other Lot Structures Nathaniel Davidson House (Built 1720)

Sarah Stickney married Francis Blanchard in 1800. In 1837, David Parker built this single-story house on property he called the "Wheat Place". He subdivided off this tiny lot for the house, and sold it to the widow Sarah Blanchard. Sarah's son, William, bought the "Wheat House" just to the north on the same day.

Sarah sold to James A. Lovejoy in 1841, and he maintained the residence until 1856, when he sold to the blacksmith, George Wilson. After that, it changed hands several times, including through Thomas Talbot, before ending up with Susan Green, wife of Joseph Warren Green, who owned the Fletcher Hotel. She was the owner of the residence, without her husband.

In the 20th century, it was sold to Edward Barker who lived there for many years. The house was razed sometime between 1963 and 1971.
