School Superintendent
The School Superintendent position was created as a state requirement for school districts in 1889. Through the early part of the 20th century, the town was in an agreement with (town, town, and town) to employ a single superintendent to oversee all districts. Eventually, there was a need to break from this agreement and employ their own. During the WWII years, Harold Chittim was drafted, and Eugene Vining came out of retirement to fill the role. Upon his second retirement, Cyril Locke stepped in on an interim basis.
