Sleepy Hollow is a neighborhood in North Billerica off Allen Road. "Sleepy Hollow, A Subdivision of Land in Billerica, Mass.," owned by Content Homes, Inc. and drawn by Emmons, Fleming & Bienvenu, Inc., engineers and surveyors, of 220 Boston Road, Billerica, is dated February 1971. It was approved by the Planning Board on May 25, 1971 and recorded on June 25, 1971 in two sheets (Plan Book 112, Plan 127). It laid out Ichabod Lane, named for the schoolmaster in Washington Irving's tale, east from Allen Road, with stubs for Heidi Lane and Cheryl Lane, in lots of 40,000 to 86,000 square feet. A gas transmission line crosses the tract. Four lots on Allen Road, A through D, were left out of the subdivision. The houses date from the early 1970s.
