Michael B. Hayes

Michael B. Hayes

Michael B. Hayes (1863 to 1931) was a Billerica watchman who built the house at 380 Boston Road in Billerica Centre about 1919. He married Mary A. Rogers of Billerica on July 9, 1891. On October 21, 1919 George E. Stearns sold him a strip of about 38,500 square feet on the south side of the Stearns homestead on Main Street, now Boston Road, running back 378 feet beside the land of Mary Rogers (Middlesex North Book 639, Page 199), and the Michael Hayes House was built on it. The 1920 census lists him there as a watchman in a car factory, and the town's jury lists of the late 1920s also give his occupation as watchman. He died in 1931, and his widow sold the house in 1932.
