Jeannette C. Fogarty served the Postal Service in three of Billerica's village post offices between 1975 and 1989, ending as postmaster of North Billerica. According to the Postal Service's records of postmasters, she was officer in charge of the Nutting Lake post office in 1975 and 1976, filling the gap between two periods in charge under Ralph N. Newman, and in 1980 she was officer in charge at Pinehurst after the twenty-year tenure of Alice F. Donovan, until Joanne F. Gastonguay was appointed postmaster there.
In 1982 she was appointed postmaster of North Billerica, succeeding Joseph F. Condon, who had held the office from 1959 until 1981, and Ralph N. Newman, who had been in charge since September 9, 1981. She kept the North Billerica office until 1989, when George R. Rushton took charge on September 1. The North Billerica, Pinehurst and Nutting Lake post offices were among the places where the town's warrants and election notices were posted in those years.
Earlier, as a Billerica resident, she had put a petition article on the warrant for the 1973 annual town meeting, asking the town to direct the selectmen to void any inactive gasoline storage permits and to issue new permits for filling stations only at the rate of one for each increase of 5,000 in the town's population beyond the last state census.
