On October 8, 1693, the Town Meeting agreed to build a new meeting house. In July of 1864, it was completed in three days by about 50 townsfolk. It stood about 30 feet south of the Soldiers Monument.
When construction of the Third Meetinghouse was completed, the town sold this building's materials for 40 pounds, but kept the glass.
