Tower Farm Estates

Tower Farm Estates is a neighborhood in North Billerica between Boston Road and Allen Road, on land of the former Musgrave Tower Farm. "Tower Farm Estates, a Definitive Subdivision Plan of Land, Billerica, Mass.," owned by J. E. Farmer and drawn by Walter E. Sampson & Associates, civil engineers and surveyors, of Billerica, is dated June 2, 1969. It was approved by the Planning Board on October 25, 1969 and recorded on March 9, 1970 in five sheets (Plan Book 110, Plan 42). With 271 lots, most of them 25,000 square feet, it was one of the largest subdivisions in town. It laid out Tower Farm Road from Boston Road to Allen Road, Whittier Road, Poe Road, Frost Street, Porter Street, Pratt Street, Berry Street, Acre Road, Bonnie Lane and Handel Road. Several of the streets are named for American poets. A 381,586-square-foot parcel, Lot 227A, was left along the old ditch at the south end. The houses were built between 1969 and the mid-1970s.
